THE FINAL PIE

This watch marks the end to the original constellations in-series. This Japanese market exclusive was Omegas attempt at revisiting a brighter memory in the midst of the “Quartz Crisis”. In classic Japanese fashion, this probably turned out way cooler and more experimental than any of the original references…in my opinion.

Running from the mid to late 70’s, the 168.0065 became a mechanically powered f*ck off to its tuning fork & quartz powered brothers and sisters. Most notably, the dial typography gets flipped on its head. The star gets removed, the vintage omega text gets put at 6, & the Omega symbol becomes bulbous and psychedelic. Furthermore, the indices get treated with onyx inlays-oof. Also hot take, the 7-link brushed bracelet takes the cake over the original Gay Freres bead-of-rice.
